My Story

Mignon Gould has had a passion for fashion from an early age. When most youngsters were cutting their teeth on “Green Eggs and Ham,” she was voraciously flipping through her grandmother’s Bergdorff Goodman catalog, clipping images of the latest looks and making mini magazines.

Mignon received a B.S. in Communication and Media Studies from Arizona State University and an MFA in Fashion Journalism, with an emphasis in Multimedia from Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where she later taught a graduate-level Fashion Journalism course.

Mignon launched Hollywood Digs (2004-2007), a style website assisting followers in finding fashions they had seen in film and on television. After the success of that blog, she started the online style and entertainment magazine TheChicSpy.com (2007-2017).

The popular site featured interviews with film insiders including actors Emma Stone, Selma Hayek and Octavia Spencer, as well as costume designers such as Michael O’Connor (Jane Eyre), Madeline Fontaine (Jackie) and Catherine Martin (The Great Gatsby).

In 2015, Mignon created Chic Spy Day, to celebrate the onscreen style of spies such as James Bond. The observance day is listed in online calendars such as “Days of the Year” and “Time and Date,” as well as the annual book publication Chase Calendar of Events.

In 2019, Mignon launched Art of Preneur, an online guide for women entrepreneurs, featuring interviews with emerging female founders, and entrepreneurship tips and strategies. In 2020, she will launch the Galleria, a community platform to help women entrepreneurs gain exposure and capital for their businesses.

Inspired by her love for fashion and film, and countless interviews with costume designers and filmmakers, Mignon founded fash.film.fête. in 2019. Mignon wants the festival to be a catalyst to explore and celebrate the role fashion plays in film.

Mignon and her work have been featured in myriad publications including TeenVogue.com, Forbes.com and AZCentral.com.
